The governing body for the City of Fredonia consists of a Mayor elected at large and two commissioners elected at large.
The governing body enjoys the powers and responsibilities conferred by State law for a second class city with a Mayor-Commission form of government, except for the Commissioners do not have supervisory powers over any special department.
The Commissioners appoint a City Administrator to handle daily operations.
The Mayor presides over all meetings of the governing body with voting privileges. The Mayor, or a previously-appointed Vice Mayor, completes signing of all ordinances and resolutions. Two commissioners make up a quorum.
The City Commission meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm.
